German wheat beer and Austrian yodel music do not go together at all.

Normally the bottom of the bottle with the younger yeast is served separately and then it’s up to guy drinking it if he wants to pour it back, drink it separately or don’t drink it at all. The only thing that yeast is going to bring into the beer is more bitterness. That’s why you shouldn’t turn the bottle.

Great video, thanks. CO2 is generated inside a glass bottle, what is that is needed to let the gas out when the pressure level goes above certain level (say 2 bars) so that the bottle does not explode? Thanks.

So at the local Flying Saucer they had Glass Night on Wednesdays and I got off early from my waiting job so I decided to stop in for a beer and to see what glass they had. Turns out it was Franziskaner Weissbeir and that was it. I was hooked. I love Hefeweizen more than all other beers. And that says a lot considering I’m Mexican and my family has a perpetual hard on for Bud Light and Miller Lite. Sadly my dog broke my Franziskaner glass but I got other types of glasses from different companies now

Thanks . Do you ever loosely cap the bottle and then squeeze out the air and foam and then tighten the carbonating cap? Would that prevent a bit of oxidation of the beer? Brew on!

Not sure if you check comments on videos this old, but what size hose you got connecting that quick connect to the regulator? I just ordered the same one from fleabay, but it ain't tellin me what size the hose is. Also, would you recommend the reinforced vinyl hose, or would regular vinyl hold up to the pressure?

I grew up like 30km from the Schwendl Brewery... it´s widely available in the region. But only in southeast of Bavaria.

Bullshit yeast talking... If you brew wheat beer you need a yeast which ferments at 20 to 25 degree Celsius. Mark Gerlach obv needs learn some basic things about beer before he talks, otherwise he misinforms everyone who watches this video, because there were many things off in his dubious explanations.

The German food and beer is without a doubt, the finest in the world. I very much miss going to Bavaria! We went four times for BMW European delivery and loved every minute of it! Schliersee is south of Munich and that area is the closest thing to heaven, at least in the summer! Hopf is in Miesbach and there and about four more good brewries. Stay at the Schlierbergalm in Schliersee or go down a very few miles further and stay in Spitsigzee. You won't forget it!!

So... if you question yourself: How can small breweries survive on such small amount of production? Because we Germans stick to our local breweries rather then beer which is sold all over the country. It is part of our culture.

Weißbier is the weakest Beer, we usually can't drink it like that because its too bad so we mix it with coke and call it Colaweizen, try normal Beer like Landbier or Kellerbier
